Kiwi Wine Scrum @ The Old Ship, Richmond
Tuesday 7th September, 7.30pm
The public have spoken and decided the fomat of this event. It's The All Whites vs. The All Blacks as you get the chance to decide which New Zealand wines rule: Sauvingnon Blancs or Pinot Noir.
Wine expert Sam Lockyear, a Kiwi through-and-through, will take us on a journey to decide what New Zealand does best: Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir.
Three wines from each side will tough it out and you will ultimately make the decisions of which is our favourite, which is the best value, and whether the All Blacks beat the All Whites.
The team line-ups are:
The All Whites, Sauvignon Blanc exclusively from Marlborough:
- Villa Maria SB
- Forrest SB
- Cloudy Bay SB
The All Blacks, Pinot Noir from around Kiwi Land:
-
Forrest PN from Marlborough
-
Mount Difficulty Roaring Meg from Central Otago
-
Martinborough Vineyard from Martinborough
We will start with bubbles, of course, as that always gets us in the mood for a decent Tasting Session. There might even be a substitution during the contest, depending on how fit the teams are. Bread rolls and crackers will be provided.
The match commences at 7.30 in the upstairs room at The Old Ship in Richmond. No previous scummaging experience required, just bring your enthusiasm.
Advance booking is strongly advised, as this will be popular. We just did a tasting for 75 people at M&S in Kew, which might attract a few new faces. New Zealand was one of our most requested countries in a recent questionnaire.
We hope to see you on the Tuesday 7th for what should be a very entertaining evening.
All the best,
David & The Tasting Sessions Team
